KstyleJewelry's core belief has always been that jewelry should bring joy to people's lives. This drives us to create jewelry that is not only beautiful and fun, but also functional. However, we recognize that achieving this vision requires more than our dedication to design and craftsmanship.
Our love for jewelry is matched only by our commitment to human well-being. That’s why we are committed to ethical sourcing and development, ensuring that our business practices respect the environment and the communities impacted by our industry. We use recycled and sustainable materials, employ energy-efficient practices, and minimize our carbon footprint. We strive to make a positive impact every step of the way.
For us, sustainability is a comprehensive commitment that goes beyond traditional environmental practices. It includes efforts to combat climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and uphold human rights. We advocate for gender and economic equality, fair wages, and safe working conditions. In addition, we aim for social and institutional improvement and clearly communicate to all stakeholders where we have made progress and what we are still working to do right.
We understand that some of our goals may seem ambitious and broad, but we believe that real progress requires immediate action and long-term goals. As a small business based in New York City, we are constantly learning what it means to operate responsibly and consciously.
Let us share some of the initiatives we are taking. This is an ongoing journey, and as we learn more, we are committed to doing more to make a positive impact to our environment.
We are members of the Responsible Minerals Initiative and say no to'dirty gold' because we know how destructive it can be, from ongoinglabor abuses to the harmful effects of mercury and other environmentaldegradation. Today, we use 100% certified recycled gold in our designs.
While 100% of the silver content in our silver pieces is also recycled, the complete alloy blend used in these designs contains 7.5% content that is a blend of other metals. We are continuing research to achieve 100% recycled content in silver alloys as well.
We are about making, not mining. We produce our fine jewelry using the highest quality lab-grown diamonds and moissanite, set in responsibly sourced precious metals. Transparency about our processes and our commitment to ethically sourcing materials will always be our core values.
Our sustainable jewelry is made in spaces that are safe and healthy. All of our factories are committed to our Code of Conduct, and last year, over 90% were audited to ensure they meet our standards. We are pushing ourselves, our factory, and the industry to be even safer, healthier, and more transparent.
Our packaging uses recycled materials made with less energy, less water, and fewer emissions. Since 2021, we’ve used 100% recycled paper, saving hundreds of tons of CO2, and we’ve further reduced the size of our packaging to further reduce waste.
We are committed to protecting the earth. Using renewable energy (such as solar, wind, and hydro) can significantly reduce carbon footprint and environmental impact, and the laboratory can achieve a more sustainable production method.
It’s called circularity, and it means reusing and recycling rather than throwing things away. We always start with materials from responsible or recycled sources. Then, we carefully craft those materials into high-quality jewelry made to last generations. And if it’s time for something new, – and we’ll recycle or recertify your old materials so they can take a new turn in the jewelry lifecycle.
Our team is currently working on the next phase of our goals and charting our long-term sustainability path. We are very focused on continuously improving our practices while maintaining our core beliefs, but never at the expense of valuable partnerships and long-term partners.
We plan to work exclusively with carriers that offer green shipping options, such as UPS's Green Shipping Program.
By better managing air and car travel, choose airlines that offer carbon offset programs, such as Delta and JetBlue in the United States and Lufthansa in Europe, which not only offer carbon offset programs at the corporate level, but also allow passengers to offset the carbon footprint of specific flights.
Choose electric vehicles and other forms of green energy transportation.
From energy suppliers to the products used in the office, we will continue to educate ourselves and make smart choices, committed to reducing printing and paper use, and reducing energy consumption as much as possible.
